The School Bus / Valerie's Gallery

Valerie's Gallery is a collection of thoughts, poems, stories and other writings. Some are observations of the different ways people communicate and are all based on actual encounters. They were all written by my Mother as part of her Major Work for her Degree in Communication.

I haven't written anything for such a long time so thought I would start the ball rolling again
with an edition to 'Valerie's Gallery'.

This is dedicated to my nephew Daniel
for whom it was written.

THE SCHOOL BUS

When Daniel got the bus to school
He’d never been before.
And there were things he had to learn,
Like don’t stand near the door

You quietly sit upon the seats
Do not run up and down
And shout, and cause a lot of fuss
And make the driver frown.

Remember first to pay your fare
And don’t forget your case
Then when you’re getting off again
With other kids, don’t race.

So when they day is over,
And you’ve had a lot of fun
The bus will bring you home again
And when you’re home: there’s Mum!

Cheers!

Mare
